Dan Aykroyd Raps About Ghostbusters 3. He Also Raps.
By George 'El Guapo' Roush on September 3, 2008

Dan Aykroyd was in Toronto promoting something when E! asked him about a possible Ghostbusters sequel.
We all know the game coming out is supposed to be kind of a sequel, with the entire cast except for Rick Moranis returning to voice their characters.
But are the Apatow guys working on a sequel?
Click below to find out. Then click
HERE to see Dan spit some wordage for everyone to laugh at. With. Laugh with...
Um. Please don't make this movie unless the original Ghostbusters are in it.

In a past issue of Game Informer Magazine they did a piece on Ghostbusters the video game that was supposed to be released next month. Unfortunatley, Sierra / Vivendi Games drop the title when they were bought by Activision. In that review Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd were both interviewed and quoted saying comments such as..."The game is essientially the 3rd movie." "Harold and I are writing the script ourselves" "All of the original voice talent are returning to reprise their roles" Check it out for yourself. I have the issue at home and have read it several times. The story takes place a few years after the 2nd movie. The Ghostbusters are more favored now than they were at the beginning of the second movie. They actually have Ghostbusters Franchises. You play as a new recruit on the original squad of Ghostbusters. Somehow a portal has been found that takes the group directly to hell. They can go inbetween this portal and I don't remember the exact details on why that is as they probably were not in the article. Find the issue and your questions will be solved.

The Apatow Gang could most definitely pull off a new flick... but I wouldn't hand everything off completely... and he said SEQUEL, not 'reboot.' So we won't have to worry about another origin story with new guys replacing the old characters. There are a hundred different ways a well-made 'next generation' Ghostbusters film can be made, and I think using some of the Apatow talent is one of them. I would love to see any combination of Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, James Franco, Jason Segal, Justin Long, Steve Carrell, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, etc. in a Ghostbusters flick. And though it would pain me if Venkman didn't make some sort of appearance, I think the inclusion of at least one original to pass the torch would work just fine. Plus, as with Superman, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, and any kind of future Back to the Future remake/additions, if the original theme song is included then my butt will be in the seat.

Oh. lol. Still sucks no Rick Moranis but that's not as big of a deal. Speaking of good old Rick, I wish he'd come back to acting.

I keep getting the two names mixed up. I corrected it to say Rick Moranis.

What's this nonsense about Harold Ramis not doing his character's voice?.. He most certainly is.
