Did The Avengers assemble in Iron Man?

Alright, it's in Portuguese, and since I'm a dumb American I can only read and speak one language. Judao.com is reporting on Samuel L. Jackson's appearance as Nick Fury talking about The Avengers after the credits roll in Iron Man.

Having seen the film I stayed after the credits to see if there was anything extra, but there wasn't and a collective groan could be heard from the audience. Why was this scene cut from the press screening? Is it in the final theatrical release? According to Thiago, it just very well may be:

I don't know if you are aware of this, but Iron Man opened here today (April 30th) and the NICK FURY / SAMUEL L. JACKSON cameo is CONFIRMED. Also, he appears recruiting a team you may know, called THE AVENGERS... =D

Unfortunately, Paramount cut this scenes from the press screenings copies. I saw the movie last Monday waiting for Sam, but nothing... Until now, that my readers are sending this info. I'm going crazy! =D
