Digital Two-Face in TDK
By Ryan 'The Rican with the Irish name' McLelland on August 7, 2007
film ick has reported that Framestore CFC, the effects house that worked on films like Children of Men, will be providing The Dark Knight's Two-Face's (AKA Harvey Dent played by Aaron Eckhart) visual effects
Does this mean that Two-Face's half-scarred face will be entirely CGI?
It's an interesting concept. Thoughts of Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale's version of Two-Face (from their graphic novels like Batman: The Long Halloween) makes me think that a CGI version of the horrible scarring could be incredible, especially if the acid went deeper than the skin.
The Tommy Lee Jones makeup wasn't all that bad in Batman Forever its just that his costume was bad. And the performance was bad. And the movie was bad. And the makeup? Yeah, maybe it could have been done better.
Will Eckhart's face be half-digital in the flick though? I doubt it because there is no need. I'm sure his face will be half makeup with some CGI inserted to make him look really nasty. The thought of some CGI in there does make me a bit giddy.
