Shaft Joins Speed Racer!

Forget Trixie.  Forget Racer X.  Speed Racer has Shaft on his side!  Shut yo mouth!  I'm just talkin' bout Shaft! 

The legendary Richard Roundtree has joined the Wachowski brothers live-action version of the classic 1960s Manga 'Speed Racer'.

Roundtree will play Ben Burns, a racer-turned-commentator who is an icon to the fans and a hero to Speed Racer.

Roundtree joins Emile Hirsch, Matthew Fox, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon and John Goodman. Speed Racer opens in theaters May 9, 2008.
