The 3:10 To Yuma Has Moved Up
By Ryan 'The Rican with the Irish name' McLelland on July 10, 2007

Everything about 3:10 To Yuma sounds incredible.
It has a great director in James Mangold who has done some great flicks like Walk The Line, Girl Interrupted, and the under-appreciated Cop Land.
It has an amazing cast in Christian Bale, Russell Crowe, Ben Foster, Peter Fonda, and Alan Tudyk. It also continues the comeback of Gretchen Mol who is a superhottie who can act circles around most actresses.
And it is coming out earlier than it was - something I always enjoy because I'm so impatient. The flick was scheduled to come out October 5th but with strategies abound 3:10 has moved on up to September 7th.
Why the move? 3:10 To Yuma isn't the only Western coming out this fall but now it is the first. Brad Pitt's The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford opens in a limited run a few weeks later on September 21st and Ethan and Joel Coen's No Country for Old Men bows on November 7th.
There is also the early Oscar push. With early buzz on the film being incredible, Lionsgate (the film's distributor) hopes to build the early buzz into a huge buzz while having that DVD out in early 2008 just in time for those Oscar voters to get it in their grubby little hands.
Whatever the strategy may be I'm just happy that I'll get to see the movie a month earlier now. I'll just keep on thinking to myself that they moved it up just for lil' ol' me.
