Will Smith is John Hancock

Will Smith is is another superhero flick.  Men in Black was great, Men in Black II was stinky, and Rob Liefeld's The Mark was...oh yeah...that never happened.

Now Will Smith is back as John Hancock!  Never heard of the character?  Yeah me either and this coming from the guy who lives and breathes comics.

JustJared.com posted the first set pics from the flick which shows Willy drinking and flying.  Course Will doesn't know that I had that first in my superhero comic 'Philly'...but don't worry Will...I won't sue.  Yet. ;)

The flick has a monster director in Peter Berg (The Kingdom) and a superhottie female lead in Charlize Theron.  But what exactly is John Hancock about?  Well it turns out the Will plays a tortured superhero who has fallen out of favor with the public enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Charlize) of the public relations professional (Arrested Development and The Kingdom's Jason Bateman) who’s trying to repair his image. He tries to transform himself by romancing this alluring housewife, causing chaos in the city.

The film is due for release July 2, 2008.
