Witchblade Heads For Big Screen
By Ryan 'The Rican with the Irish name' McLelland on May 12, 2008

Witchblade is heading for the big screen.
The comic has remained uber-popular since its inception in the 90s. Of course it had this super-hot big-boobed cop who had this skimpy outfit powered by a jewel gauntlet on her arm which gave her amazing powers. The jewel, aka Witchblade, was passed down for centuries and allowed super-hot big-boobed women throughout the years to be superheroes.
Is it no wonder the comic sold like hot cakes to comic dweebs like me?
Actually I never bought the book but alot of people said, "It looks real nice." I'm pretty sure no one could ever tell me what the plot was about though.
Witchblade actually got its own TV show that lasted a season. It starred Yancy Butler who I really only remember from the great bad movie Hard Target starring Jean-Claude Van Damme directed by John Woo. The TV show was popular though Yancy wasn't really hot, big-boobed, nor wore scant clothing. She did love to hit the bottle and the show was cancelled so Yancy could go to rehab. A manga version of the show has proved to be a big hit because, well, it gives the target audience exactly what it wants.
So now the comic is headed for the big screen. I say GREAT. It's about time Witchblade got the super-hot, super big-boobed, and super skimpy outfit she really truly deserves (and I really truly deserve to OOGLE at).
No director has been named yet. No writer either. However 6,000 producers on the film have been named and can pat themselves on the back including Gary Hamilton, Nigel Odell, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, Steve Squillante, Marc Silvestri, Matt Hawkins, Rich Marincic, and Randy Greenberg. With seventeen producers the films already going to be good.
Says Gary Hamilton, ""This property is the cornerstone of our upcoming production and sales slate," said Arclight CEO Gary Hamilton. "We hope to be able to start production in September."
Dudes just pay Angelina Jolie 6 kazillion dollars and peel that costume onto her. It'll be worth it, she has the look, and the world will be happy with her as Witchblade.
